I have checked the Hearts on Fire Diamond at retail stores and it&#8217;s 13k just for the diamond. The setting and band will be a couple thousand more, is this worth it?</p>
<p>This is for a GSI1, 1 Carat Super Ideal Cut. </p>
<p>For Tiffanys, I have not checked but I&#8217;m assuming it&#8217;s around the 15k range as well. </p>
<p>The generic or no brand diamond, I can probably get for 9k. </p>
<p>What do you guys think? What should I get?</p>
<p>I am only 24 years old and I do not make a lot of money (entry level job) but I do want her to I want her to remember the day and remember the experience. Do you think it’s reasonable to spend a lot of money now (eventually, I’ll make it back in the future)? </p>
<p>The bad news is that we are planning to save for a house. </p>

<p>I was actually thinking of getting just the stone from Hearts on Fire and custom make the setting. I also agree that HoF is an investment and that it&#8217;ll always worth something (with 100% trade in as well). I know buying a brand name is silly but have you guys seen the HoF diamonds? I feel that they do look cleaner and sparkles more than the other diamonds. </p>
<p>Is it the lights at the store or is it the actual quality of the diamond?</p>

<p><i>Answer by LadyPandora</i><br />I got a Tiffany engagement ring and have to tell you that a no brand one is better if u are saving up for the future, because it will just be an item in your house, and wont mean anything after a while&#8230;it is not worth it, its better to go somewhere for a nice all-inclusive holiday.</p>
